St. Mary Byzantine auction features 100 prizes, certificates


Fri., Oct. 3 Basket auction:
St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 1900 Brooks Blvd., auction with more than 100 gift certificates and prizes, including flat-screen TV, outdoor grill, Kitchen Aid mixer, iPad, household items, appliances, theme baskets and a 50/50. Doors open at 5 p.m. Auction begins at 7. Tickets at $10 includes one sheet of tickets, desserts, coffee and tea. Stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut sandwiches, meatball sandwiches, hotdogs, hamburgers for sale. Order tickets in advance by calling Marge at 908-722-5894 or Betty at 908-782-8325. POW/MIA service moved to Thursday night


Thurs., Sept. 18 Memorial service:
VFW Post 2290 and its ladies auxiliary has changed the date of its annual prisoner of war/missing in action service to tonight at 7 p.m. at the post, 600 Washington Ave. The public is encouraged to come out and remember those who have gone to war and not yet returned.
